New plastic decking, building a better lifestyle outdoors.
when it comes to building outdoor products, you cannot go past composite decking. The product has stood the test of time for many years. With this fast installation and durability, composite decking is far above the rest for a superior product outdoors.
At Deckon we have been installing this product for the past 15 years and have seen it grow from the original decking material called mod wood all the way up to the new composite decking Materials that Bunnings have called eco-deck. This is a capped decking with a hardened polymer surface rolled out of a press machine with a wood grain pattern. It comes with a variety of colours and set lengths at 5.4 m long. Colours can be found here: https://www.ekodeck.com.au/.
This enables many different styles of decking because we can install picture frame styles and Borders to break up different segments and designs. Hence making it very custom to your needs as everyone’s backyard is completely different. Some backyards are quite small some backyards are quite steep and some backyards are dead flat. Working in this industry we have discovered that the average size decking is around about 30 m² this enables a good size family sized decking. For the unit developments they can range between 10 m² up to 30 m² and for your larger homes with large backyards 30+ square metres is a great size. In saying that going about 50 m² is all about aesthetics.
As you can see above there are different colours available giving your decking a creative look. This project was completed recently in Bayswater and we have enjoyed working alongside our great customers Sharon and Andrew. They are loving the new decking having many great memorable parties outside with the family. We also installed a pitched roof Veranda over the top of this decking making a great outdoor entertaining area.
Deckon builders have been creating and designing decks and verandahs in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne for the past 30 years. Not only do we built great decks and pergolas ,we built great customer relationships with many of the family and friends involved. Its been a pleasure and a great journey so I look forward to continuing building these projects for many years to come. I have two young men that would like to carry on this career in the building industry. I started this business when I was 22, building many decks throughout the years as you can see below.
The photo above is me in 1999 building a deck and Verandah in Ringwood East. As I recall we ended up doing a dual occupancy at this property and building a house behind then selling both properties to buy further properties. As you can see that we have been building decks and verandahs for many years so I don’t think there is anyone with more vast knowledge than us.
